1.      Kissimmee Chain, Camp Lester.  Ramp fee--$4.00.  The telephone number for Camp Lester is 863-696-1123.  PUT THIS NUMBER IN YOUR CELL PHONE.  Leo Cosce has rescued our members many, many times.  If you practice on Kissimmee and need help, call Leo.  Camp Lester has rooms for rent.  Call the number above for rates.

Kissimmee Adventures, 14216 Reese Drive, Lake Wales, FL 33898.  863-696-4438, 863-521-7524, 877-994-4436.  www.kissimmeeadventures.com.  Kissimmee Adventures rents houses.  Rates in 2010 were: one bath for $110 per night and a two bath for $120 per night.  These homes will easily accommodate four persons.  There is no extra charge for additional persons.  Kathy and Kevin Stallworth are the owners.  The Stallworths also have a mobile tackle shop.  Instead of turning left to Camp Lester go straight about 200 yards.  Kissimmee Adventures is on the left behind the chain link fence.  These folks are very friendly and their rentals are clean and modern.

4.    Okeechobee, Okee-Tantie.  Go US 27 to Lake Wales.  Go 60 east to YeeHaw Junction.  Turn right (South) on 441 to Okeechobee.  441 Ts into US 98 after you pass through Okeechobee.  Turn right (West) on US 98.  Go about 8 miles and turn left into the Okee-Tantie ramp.  Ramp fee—NO ramp fee.  The motels below are about 1.5 hours from Eagle Ridge Mall if you take this route.

Flamingo Motel, 4101 Hwy 441 South (next to McDonald’s), Okeechobee, FL 34974

 863-763-6100, FAX 863-763-4894.  This motel has parking for boats with plenty of hookups for electric at the boat parking spots and in front of each room on the post. Ask for the summer rate.  The winter, prime rate in 2010 was $55.00 with tax.  Breakfast comes with the room and opens at 5AM.  The ramp is about 15 minutes from this motel.

 

Best Western Lake Okeechobee, 3975 Hwy 441 South, Okeechobee, FL 34974

863-357-7100, FAX 863-357-7100, 800-WESTERN.  This motel is next to the Flamingo Motel.  There is parking for about four boats in the rear of the motel with hookups on the light poles.  There are hookups at the post in front of the rooms, but boats have to be unhooked to park in front of rooms.  The manager will open breakfast early for fishermen and will pack a breakfast if requested.  This motel is best for no-boaters as parking is difficult and limited for boats.  2010 rates were $50.00 with breakfast.  The ramp is about 15 minutes from this motel.

 

Travelodge Suites, 1527 U.S. Hwy 441 SE, Okeechobee, FL 34974

863-824-3431 or Travelodge.com.  This motel is about 1 mile from the T-intersection of 441.  Turn left (east) where you would turn right (west) to go to the Okee-Tantie ramp.  There are a limited number of parking places where you can leave your truck attached to the trailer.  Rates in 2010 were $65.  The ramp is about 15 minutes from this motel.
